LAVENDER + PEPPERMINT FOOT SOAK

Between racing to work, to the gym, to the shops and everywhere in between, we carry a lot of stress through our feet. They’re one of the most neglected body parts and yet they play such an important role in our lives. Our supportive friends need looking after, and one of the best ways to treat them is with a lavender and peppermint foot soak.

Because the soles of our feet have larger pores than the rest of our body, it allows oils to pass through the skin more easily to work their magic faster, and more efficiently. Lavender oil not only smells wonderful, but it also has historical healing properties for both the mind and body. Known for it’s ability to alleviate headaches and to improve sleep, this foot soak is perfect when you’re ready to call it a day.

Peppermint has been used in European medicine for over three hundred years, and has documented therapeutic properties. As an antispasmodic, when applied topically, peppermint tea has a relaxing and cooling effect on nerves and muscles, and reduces inflammation. Peppermint’s antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties make it a powerful disinfectant that helps combat foot odor.

By adding coconut oil to your foot soak, it helps moisturise and replenish the feet and better absorb the benefits from the lavender and peppermint tea.

So sit back with a calming and relaxing drink, and treat your toes the way they deserve to be treated.

Lavender + Peppermint Foot Soak
(makes 1 soak)

¼ cup of epsom salt
2 tbsp of coconut oil
5 drops of lavender essential oil
The contents of 2 organic peppermint tea bags

1. Combine oils and tea leaves in a bowl
2. Fold in epsom salt until totally covered in oil
3. Fill a small (foot sized) tub with comfortably hot water and stir in foot soak
4. Soak feet for at least twenty minutes

Whilst you relax and take care of your feet, we recommend thickly applying Goodwash conditioner to your tresses. After applying, wrap your hair on top of your head with cling film, and cover with a towel. The clingfilm will help retain the warmth from your skin and the towel, giving you luxurious, salon standard locks whilst you treat your feet.
