St Dwynwen’s Day

St Dwynwen’s Day

Dydd Santes Dwynwen is the annual celebration of St Dwynwen who is the patron saint of love in Wales. It is a celebration of love and affection that takes place on 25th January and is often thought of as the Welsh equivalent of St Valentine’s Day.

Our team have put together of a selection of their fave Goodwash gifts for you here.. and with every gift we can also add a complimentary personalised message card for your Welsh Lover.

The most traditional way to celebrate St Dwynwen’s Day is for a woman to receive a wooden Llwy garu from her partner or admirer. Traditionally, these would have been carved by hand as a way of demonstrating skill to your intended. The designs were often quite intricate and the spoon would be carved from one piece of wood. See some wonderful examples here.

But the important thing about St Dwynwen’s Day isn’t the gifts or the cards, or indeed the lovespoon. It is all spending time with your loved one and telling them that you love them or as we say in South Wales fi’n caru ti

Would you like to surprise your loved one with a special St Dwynwen's weekend of flaming Welsh passion? Of course you would! Well how about booking a delicious stay in one of our many favourite stays in Wales at Michelin starred Ynyshir, Grove Narbeth, Pemeanauchaf or The Priory Caerleon

You will find Goodwash products in each of these magical stays so you should definitely feel hapus and refreshed after your stay!

For the ultimate amatory adventure, make a pilgrimage to St Dwynwen's 5th century Church at Llanddwyn Island on Ynys Môn. With Eryri as a backdrop, it is quite simply one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet.
