LAVENDER DIY HAIR MASK

Lavender is one of the most popular essential oils used across the globe for physical and mental wellbeing, and has been for thousands of years. Recognised at first for it’s calming properties, many of other incredible benefits are overshadowed, but not today, we say.

This incredible oil works to promote cell regeneration, and fights against skin irritants and inflammation – properties that encourage thick, healthy, and happy hair follicles. Being antimicrobial as well prevents harmful, irritating bacteria from settling on the scalp which can cause dry, brittle, and easily damaged hair. Factor in the gorgeous stress relieving scent, and this oil is the magic ingredient to any hair product.

Partnered with hydrating and softening oils and shea butter, the lavender oil hair mask works tirelessly to stimulate hair growth and overall scalp health. This all natural, vegan and cruelty free DIY is perfect for every season and hair type, whether your hair is suffering from the bitter cold, or the sun, sand and surf.

Lavender Hair Mask

1 ½ cups of unrefined shea butter at room temperature

1 tbsp sweet almond oil

2 tbsp organic avocado oil

6 drops of lavender essential oil

Leave your shea butter to soften, and scoop into a large bowl. Add your oils and mix the ingredients together with an electric mixer on slow for a few minutes until it becomes creamy and fluffy. We recommend stopping after every thirty seconds or so to scrape down the sides of the bowl for thorough and consistent mixing.

Rich in vitamins A, B, D, E avocado oil is an absolute must in any hair mask. The healing and restorative vitamins are also partnered with amino acids, iron, copper, magnesium, and folic acid – all the wonderful things our hair and scalps need to keep glossy and lustrous.

Once all whipped together, your mask can keep for up to three months in a cool dark spot, and is a perfect addition to a nighttime routine thanks to the relaxing lavender oil.
