IMMUNITY BOOSTING BATH MELT

Sometimes it feels as if the only cure for the unshakeable seasonal cold is to wallow in self pity and decongestant tablets. What if you found out that the start to a healthy immune system this winter was not to be found at the bottom of a Vitamin C tablet bottle but in your bathtub?

Not only will this sumptuous bath melt soothe and hydrate dry skin, but the powerful essential oils released from inside will work to boost your immune system and keep nasty bugs at bay.

Frankincense oil plays an important role in these glorious little melts, with its expectorant abilities that work to clear up coughs, whilst supporting the immune system. The rosemary oil works in a similar way, helping to fight colds, working beautifully with the eucalyptus oil to clear up the throat and chest.

The warm water of the bath will help relax your muscles, and the essential oils will be carried by the steam to work magic on your poor stuffy nose.

IMMUNITY BOOSTING BATH MELTS RECIPE (Makes 1 batch of melts depending on size of mould)

½ cup Cocoa Butter
½ cup Shea Butter
4 drops of Frankincense Essential Oil
3 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil
2 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil

In a small glass bowl, add the cocoa butter and shea butter. Place the bowl in a saucepan with an inch of water and bring to a simmer, allowing the butter to gently melt. As the butters melt together, gently stir in the essential oils.

Carefully pour the liquid into a silicone mould or ice cube tray and place in the fridge to speed up the hardening process. Once solid, pop out the melts and keep in an airtight container in a cool, dark location for up to two months.

When you’re ready to soothe your sniffles, run a warm bath and plop a melt into the water, letting it do exactly what its name calls for, and let those healing and relaxing essential oils do their work.

With any bath, we recommend kicking back with our Goodwash Company soy candles to set the mood, they are also free from any chemicals that might exacerbate your symptoms.
