COCONUT AND LAVENDER HAND MASK

Our hands regularly suffer from the active, busy lives we lead. Between the damage caused from the environment around them, and the constant wear and tear, our hands have been long overdue a treat.

We’re not just talking about the skin, though it often shows the first signs of stress, we also want to look into the muscles of our hands and the best ways to give them the relaxation they deserve.

Packed with blood flow improving qualities, we have mixed up a refreshing, soothing, and nourishing hand mask fit for every pair. From the handy-man to the office worker, every pair of hands will rejoice at the prospect of this simple hand mask.

Coconut + Lavender Hand Mask

1/3 cup sweet almond oil
1/3 cup cocoa butter
1/3 cup beeswax

¼ cup of full fat coconut milk
6 drops of lavender essential oil

Using a double boiler and a low heat, melt your beeswax until almost liquified. Add your hydrating cocoa butter, and stir the two until thoroughly mixed and melted. Once the mixture has fully melted, add your almond oil and remove from the heat.

We like to leave the liquid to cool for a couple of minutes before stirring in the coconut milk and lavender oil. With your hand mask made, pour it into an airtight container and leave it in a cool, dark place to set.

To get the most out of this beautiful, soothing mask, store it in the fridge to add a cooling effect when using.

The ingredients in this cream make it very rich and intensive, and to get the full, hydrating benefits of the coconut and cocoa, use a generous amount on your hands before putting on latex gloves. Pop your paws into a warm pair of gloves, and sit back for half an hour and relax!

Whilst the butter, beeswax and milk are working to bring moisture back into your hands and restore the skin, the lavender is hard at work encouraging blood flow. This oil is incredibly important for the next step of your mask.

After half an hour of relaxation, remove both sets of gloves and begin to firmly, but gently, massage the remainder of the cream into your hands. When working at a desk job or in manual labor, the muscles in the palm of your hand and beneath your thumbs becomes very tight and sore.

With the mask, work your way through the tender muscles and around the joints and relax knowing you are looking after your hard working mits.

Though perfect for an evening pamper, we do not recommend using this mask as a daily hand cream. But we’ve got great news! Our wonderful https://goodwash.co.uk/product/hand-lotion/cruelty free hand cream is full of calming, restorative lavender essential oil, making it an excellent addition to any work space!
